Thank you to my supporters! And all the good folks participating here at locals. I know I’ve been too quiet. Pregnant with #11, all my energy seems to be concentrated into my family. Now I’m in my final trimester and have been very excited to see more parents at locals! This is something I can support and put energy into going forward. Political news and personal writing ambitions brought me here, but parenthood will most likely motivate me to stay passionate about this oasis. If you have questions for me, I hope you will consider asking. I will make entries to answer you as best I can.
I have 10 children all born at home, and 8 were exclusively attended by my husband who is a competent supporter with ample life experience, although my personal accountability has been key. People call it “freebirth” or unassisted birth because it is not constrained or supervised by medical people regulated by taxes or insurance, but all the same, it’s a family choice made with plenty of support and quality support, at that! My husband was a medic and has remained competent concerning his role as we go along.
All our children have been homeschooled, although we did do a year or two of middle-high school for a few kids. We also didactic little youth group participation for those 3, with interesting results.🤨
In summary, overall we spent years taking a much less traveled path, and still do. But now we also feel much less alone as the “Great” Reset kicks in. So I offer my blessings to anyone attempting parenting, and offer what lessons I’m able. I only know what I know, just like the rest of you. So I’ll see you around, hopefully! 👋🙂
I’m back after my 11th was born. God saw to a safe and happy homebirth again!
For all my patient friends - I’d like to share a little personal history with you. All my children were born at home, healthy and strong. A number were early, one was breech, one was posterior, but all perfectly healthy. It’s easier having faith in God during home birth than faith in doctors in hospitals. And while many don’t feel like it’s an option, many more know in their gut that homebirth would be happier, more merciful and gentler to both hearts and wallets.
Also hospital births are LESS earth friendly. There’s always a mess but involving a bunch of hospital workers potentially with active hepatitis infections serving you means a lot of disposable waste and garbage bags going out to the trash or hazardous waste centers. So homebirth is kinder to all. No hepatitis shots needed for babies born at home to protect themselves from infected hospital staff.
